How to see clipboard history on Mac.

On macOS 26 Tahoe, press ⌘ Space to open Spotlight, then ⌘ 4 to see what you copied recently. Older versions of macOS only keep the last thing you copied. For a longer, searchable history with pinned clips, use a clipboard manager like ToolKITZ, free to try.

The built-in way (macOS 26 Tahoe)

  1. Press ⌘ Space to open Spotlight.
  2. Press ⌘ 4 to switch to the clipboard view.
  3. The first time, Spotlight asks to turn clipboard history on. Say yes; it saves what you copy from then on. You can also switch it on or off in System Settings > Spotlight.
  4. Pick how long to keep clips (30 minutes, 8 hours or 7 days), then click a clip to copy it again.

On macOS 15 Sequoia and earlier there is no history. Finder > Edit > Show Clipboard shows only the one thing you copied last.

With ToolKITZ

  1. Download ToolKITZ and open it.
  2. Move your cursor to the very top of the screen and scroll down (or press ⌃⌥T). The drawer drops down.
